crawling

Little Lena is crawling now.

And I love it so so much.

I know they say to love every stage, but this one is just so much fun. She chases us around the house, crawls to what she wants, and is starting to pull herself up on things. If we sit down and do something that she wants to do, she'll crawl to us. Now we know what she wants to do because she'll get herself there! This is by far the funnest stage yet. I love that she's mobile.

falling over!

When she noticed I had my camera out, she immediately thought it was a new toy for her to play with. So she crawled right to it and tried to pull it out of my hand.

Oh and p.s: Lena does the stanky legg.

Don't know what that is? Check out the video.

And no, I didn't teach this to her. Gangsta at heart.

caterpillar

Every day, I try to read Lena at least one book. For a while, we only focused on one [mainly because that's all she had the attention span for]. We would read the very hungry caterpillar.

At first, I would always point out the caterpillar to her, trying to teach her about the pictures on the page. Soon, she started pointing it out with me.

Now, when I read the book, I cover the caterpillar with my thumb so that I can try and get her to point to the sun, or the tree. But she knows where that caterpillar is, and she tries to move my thumb every time and uncover the little insect.

Clark and Alicia saw a picture that I posted of little Lena showing off her skills, so they bought Lena a toy caterpillar for her to play with. I caught her snuggling with it while we were on my way to the gym. Sorry, the picture is blurry. I had to sneak-attack this picture by hiding the camera from her.

playtime in the snow

There has been a lot of snow here in Utah, so Lewis and I decided to take advantage of it. We dressed Lena up in her big puffy coat [the one where she can't move her arms and legs] and took her out to play in the snow. We don't have a baby sled here, so we just put her on some snow piles and tried to get her to smile.

It's hard to get those smiles out of her.

Lewis wanted her hat ears like this

Sat her down in the snow, and all she wanted to touch was the weed sticking out
