Lewis and I are down to the single digits. Have been for a while now. Only 7 weeks left (if she holds out til 40). Baby G will be here before we know it. We are so excited to be able to hold her and love her. And I guess the babies double in size in the next few weeks? Part of me hopes that's a lie. Not sure how much bigger I can handle. But we can't wait to finally hold her. Enjoy my extra lump :)

the birthday of C's
This year for my birthday, Lewis spoiled me rotten. I had gifts coming almost every day. Definitely not something I was used to. He was so sweet to think of all these things. On Tuesday at work, I was going through the mail and saw a letter addressed to "Kara Goodrum" and saw that it was from Lewis. I was really confused but he'd done this once before for Valentine's day so I was a little less confused this time. The card was wishing me a happy birthday and informing me that this year was going to be a birthday of C's - meaning all the gifts he getting me were going to start with the letter C. I asked for two things this year - a chocolate cake shake and a trip to Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe. When I got the letter, I started brainstorming - what was he going to do?! Surely he wouldn't do both a cake shake and a trip to get cupcakes, but I didn't know which one he was going to choose. This was such a perfect birthday. I was spoiled beyond belief. I'll try to prove it to you with these pictures.
The first "C" was the card that came to my work.
A few days later, Lewis and I met at home for lunch and I was going through the fridge looking for the leftovers that I wanted when I spotted a Costco Chocolate Cake taking up the entire bottom shelf. Bliss. I was getting a cake shake :) Also included with the cake were candles for me to blow out.
When I got home from work on Friday, I saw a red box movie sitting on the kitchen table. A note was taped to it that said:
The cupcake cafe? I was getting both! A cake shake and cupcakes. Pure bliss again.
We started celebrating on Friday night because Lewis had to spend all day Saturday taking two finals and studying for his others. So Friday night we cut the cake and made chocolate cake shakes like the ones they have at Portillo's, my favorite restaurant in Chicago. It were delicious!! Seriously one of the best things I've ever had. Better than the real thing - dare I say it. We might be making this more of a tradition. I might demand chocolate cake shakes every year :)
Then, Lewis let me open my present. This was a combined Christmas and birthday present from my mom and dad, as well as a birthday present from Lewis. Lewis and I have been wanting a nicer camera and I got it for my birthday! Lewis and I ordered it about a week ago and it came a few days before my birthday. I had to show self-control not to open it before the big day. After I opened it, I spent the next couple of hours reading the manual, preparing the memory card, and taking pictures of anything I could find around our apartment.
The next day, I went shopping to spoil myself some more and buy a camera case with the birthday money that my grandparents had given me. Just lucky for that one that it started with a "C." Saturday after Lewis's finals and studying, we went to dinner at Cafe Rio, got dessert at Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe.
Then we headed over to Rock Canyon Park to take more pictures with our brand new camera.
Then, we headed home and watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Lewis waited until I was done with the book to show it to me. Really good movie. I highly recommend it to everyone.
It was a spectacular birthday. I ate more sugar in two days that I should ever eat again. But there are still a lot of left overs of that chocolate cake (and ice cream) so I'm already planning on having another chocolate cake shake once dinner's over tonight.
Thanks to all my family and friends who helped make my birthday so special. I'm definitely spoiled with all the phone calls, gifts, and visits I received, so thank you! One of a kind day.

pentatonix, delilah and vocal point
Remember these guys?
Well, they're coming to Utah. Orem to be exact. And they just so happen to be coming 9 days before the baby's due. May 28th. The doctors couldn't decide on a due date. It's a toss up between May 27th and June 5th, but they've decided on the 5th.
So we bought tickets. Naturally. With 9 days to spare, we thought it would be fun!

Easter family picture
Thanks to our dear neighbors, Lewis and I were able to scrounge up a cute little family picture on Easter Sunday. Nothing too exciting, but I wanted a picture to remember Easter! Lewis picked out the tree and everything. I just said I wanted blossoms. Haha. So here it is. Thanks for humoring us, Becca and Nik!

Blue Bell
We were able to spend Easter dinner with some very good friends and family yesterday. Pat and Michelle invited us over and we were able to spend some time together as friends and family and to meet new people. Michelle asked us to bring the dessert. So, since (almost) everyone was from Texas, Lewis and I decided (per Michelle's request) that we would supply the party with some Blue Bell ice cream.
3 gallons (yes, gallons) of Blue Bell ice cream. The ice cream you can "only find in Texas" (which now isn't true because they sell it down the street from my house). But it was fun to have a bunch of Texans eating their Texas ice cream on a wonderfully beautiful Easter Sunday!
When Lewis brought the ice cream outside with us to put it in our car, I was surprised at what he did. I'll let the picture show you.

Foot rub
Well, thanks to Ohio State for choking so bad in their final 4 game, my bracket lost in mine and Lewis's competition. I was ahead the whole time! And then at the very, very end, I lost. Such is life.
So based on our bet we had going on, I owed Lewis an oily foot massage. I performed the massage while his team was winning the championship game. And boy he loved every minute of it. Had his head set back on the back of the couch with his eyes closed. Not sure how much of the game he even watched.
Here's to next year. Maybe I can get my picnic!

conference weekend
So my little brother came home from his mission a few weeks ago, so my parents decided it would be fun to have the family together for conference. First time in 2 years that we were all together, and how fun it was! I got to see Steve on Thursday night at a family dinner we had right at Steve pulled up at the house. I went to give him a hug and guess what was the first thing he said to me:
Thanks, Steve. Baby does make the belly get bigger. Then, when Todd flew in and I went to give him a hug, here's what he said:
Boys will be boys, I guess. But I love my brothers. Twas definitely a fun weekend getting on each other's nerves.
Here's our weekend through pictures (very, very few pictures):
All in all, it was a really fun weekend. It is so fun to have Steve back and to be able to spend time with him (even though he thinks I'm fat)!
"You got fat."

"I haven't seen you with your extra lump."

Here's our weekend through pictures (very, very few pictures):
All the boys sitting as close as possible to watch the game. This picture was not planned, by the way
Spending time out by the fire. Dad wanted to roast marshmallows
And then Lewis showed me this article. Before the final 4 playoff game. Naturally, I was excited
But this actually happened. Which made me officially lose my bracket. Ahead the whole time, only to lose it at the end. Thanks Ohio.
